‘Legends of Tomorrow’ needs to sign up Jonah Hex for full time duty
After an initial season that was mostly uneven, “Legends of Tomorrow” seems to be on a roll. It’s more fun and action-packed than ever — and only getting better as Season 2 goes on. There’s one way to take a major jump forward, though: Why not bring Jonah Hex (Johnathon Schaech) aboard the Waverider full time?
Sure, it’s already a pretty busy ship — but the addition of Hex to this team of misfits would be a very fun one. The team could use a dose of the Wild West, and he’d make a good companion for Mick (Dominic Purcell), who needs someone to be wild and unpredictable with now that Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller) is gone.

You can’t say it wouldn’t be entertaining watching Hex react to just about everything that happens as the Legends jump around in time. Just about everywhere they go — after his own era — would be a shocking surprise to a guy who doesn’t even have a solid concept of electricity.
Watching him see those times would bring just the right about of comedy. At the same time though, Hex is always up for a fight and usually finds himself on the side of good. He’s a face the team can trust, and given how he accepted Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) as captain of the Waverider, there wouldn’t be much of a power struggle.
If Schaech can’t join the cast in a regular role, here’s hoping there’s a way to work him into the storyline more than once a year. There’s something special about the character of Jonah Hex, and he deserves a bigger place in the “Arrow”-verse. Beyond that, he also simply fits with this particular crew so well.

This is a gang of incredibly unlikely heroes saving the day time and again, with a deck constantly stacked against them: A fantastic fit for Hex. Now they just need to clear out a bunk for him on the ship, and make it official… Or at least keep his year on speed dial, to jump back for a quick visit now and then.
“Legends of Tomorrow” airs TKTK at TK p.m. ET/PT on the CW.
