She’s old enough to be her mother, but at 46 Brooklyn native Marisa Tomei is the top choice to play pop sensation Lady Gaga if a movie about her rise from the New York club circuit to the top of the charts ever makes in to the silver screen.

Portraying the quirky star and her bizarre exploits — from wearing beef jerky as an evening gown to appearing on morning TV dressed as a condom — would prove a tough task for any actress, but the singer is confident The Wrestler star has what it takes.

“Oh, you know what, I would have Marisa Tomei play me. I am such a Marisa Tomei fan. All my friends call me Marisa when I get angry. Because my New York accent just flies out of my body and I start smacking my gum,” Gaga, 23, told Sirius XM Radio on Friday.

And the “Born This Way” hitmaker admits she wouldn’t mind testing her own acting skills in a movie one day: “I think at some point, yes. I think I’m sort of destined for that screen at some point.”

Tomei won a Best Actress Oscar for her role in the 1993 comedy My Cousin Vinny.
