Another drink is likely the last thing actor Mel Gibson needs, but the scandal-plagued star is reportedly on tab for a “Hangover”

The Oscar winner is taking a stab at salvaging what’s left of his movie career with a comedy cameo as a tattoo artist in The Hangover 2, The New York Post said Monday.

The accused batterer has become a public relations nightmare in the months since his violent split from girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, the mother of his young daughter Lucia. The couple’ nasty breakup played out in public when a myriad of audio of Mel’s expletive-laden rants at the Russian-born singer were “mysteriously” leaked to the press.

Gibson has since agreed to end his not-so-self-imposed exile by making light of his troubles with a big screen comeback in the highly-anticipated follow-up to the 2009 comedy, which goes into production in Thailand later this month.

“It’s a done deal. Mel will make a cameo as a tattoo artist. Filming is taking place on the Warner Bros. lot, where a Bangkok set has been built, and Mel is expected to film his role in two weeks. Then the production moves to Thailand at the end of October,” an insider-in-the-know told The Post’s PageSix Column this week.

The first Hangover starred Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha and Ed Helms and featured a famous cameo from boxing legend Mike Tyson.
