Are you tuned into tonight’s 83rd Annual Academy Awards? If not you’ve already missed a couple of gab-worthy moments. Not only did an uncharacteristically-emotional Christian Bale (finally!) pick up a Best Supporting Actor prize for his role in the sleeper hit The Fighter, Melissa Leo earned the Best Supporting Actress honor for her portrayal of a Lowell, Mass., woman who stopped at nothing while managing her sons’ boxing careers in the same film.
Of course, no “hip and young” (as hostess Anne Hathaway put it) Oscars ceremony would be complete without at least one F-bomb.
“I apologize to anyone that was offended,” Leo later said. “It was probably a very inappropriate place to use that word in particular.”
