More Cancellations For Rihanna Tour

Rihanna has been forced to scrap another date on her Last Girl on Earth North American Tour, reportedly due to poor ticket sales.

The Umbrella hitmaker axed the launch show of her Last Girl On Earth Tour with Ke$ha last week. Tour promoters blamed changes in production for the cancellation. Now comes news of at least two more cancellations. Rihanna’s Aug. 3 show at Indiana’s Verizon Wireless Music Center has been scrapped, according to TicketMaster. In addition, ticket holders for Rihanna’s July 15 performance in Denver show were notified this week that that show had also been cancelled.

No explanation has been offered the latest round of cancellations, but refunds are available at the point of purchase.

The summer of 2010 has not been kind to traveling musicians. Last week, Sheryl Crowe’s Lilith Fair cut 10 dates after failing to pack arenas. And just Thursday, Live Nation announced that American Idol’s annual Idols Live! stage show would be busting up two weeks early, citing a lack of public interest in this year’s lineup.
