High Noon: A new version of the classic 1952 Western High Noon is on its way. The original starred Gary Cooper as a small town sheriff who learns that a criminal he put away has been released from jail and is seeking revenge; he decides to stand his ground against all odds. The new version will be a modern-day thriller, set along the border between the U.S. and Mexico. [THR]
Spawn 2: Back in February, Spawn comic book creator Todd McFarlane said that he had completed his own screenplay for a new movie version — one that, unlike the 1997 version (above), would be more like “The Departed meets Paranormal Activity.” Now he says that he’s “in the process of editing” the script, which he says will be “dark, R-rated, scary, badass.” [ComicBook.com]
Ordinary World Trailer: Billie Joe Armstrong, lead singer of Green Day, gives his first lead performance as an actor in Ordinary World. Armstrong plays a former punk rock musician who is still dealing with his transition to a more ordinary life.
