Netflix Picks Up International Streaming Rights to 21 Studio
Japanese artwork home Studio Ghibli has discovered a house on Netflix.
Starting Feb. 1, 21 movies from the Academy Award-winning Studio Ghibli shall be accessible on Netflix by distribution associate Wild Bunch International, the streaming platform introduced Sunday.
The deal excludes the U.S., Canada and Japan. HBO Max acquired the U.S. rights to the animated library final yr, with the movies debuting on the platform within the spring of this yr.
Studio Ghibli’s catalogue, which can embody Academy Award-winner “Spirited Away,” “Princess Mononoke,” “Arrietty,” “My Neighbor Totoro” and “The Tale of Princess Kaguya,” shall be subtitled in 28 languages and dubbed in as much as 20 languages.
