They’ve yet to invade the small screen, but the new ladies of ABC’s Charlie’s Angels reboot are already causing a stir off the sunny sands of Miami’s South Beach.
Actresses Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor, and Annie Ilonzeh were forced to switch hotels after finding themselves surrounded by snapping members of the paparazzi as they shot a pilot for the new Angels in The Sunshine State last week.
The stars began filming the new series — a remake of the ’70s cop show that catapulted Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson, and Jaclyn Smith to fame 35 years ago — had been filming in Miami Beach, but had to move from their suites at the Hilton Bentley Hotel after just two days because of the huge numbers of photographers camped out outside the establishment, The New York Post’s Page Six Column has learned.
The series is a modern take on the iconic series set in Miami that sees a new trio of young, sexy private investigators working for a wealthy mystery man. Taylor Drew Barrymore, who took the Charlie’s Angels franchise to the big screen, is producing the TV revamp via her Flower Films firm. TV veteran Robert Wagner will replace the late John Forsythe as the voice of Charlie.
