‘New Girl’s’ Cece and Schmidt back to being friends … for now
“New Girl”?
Hannah Simone: Cece and Schmidt are now friends. They dated and then she almost got married (laughs) and then he did something very unkind, and then they spent, I think, all last season trying to rebuild their friendship. I almost feel like they’re back to almost the beginning of Season 1 with their relationship.
You know, like they’re friends, they’re good to each other, and that they have this very sweet history. So we’ll see where this season takes us, but they’re obviously two people who really care about each other.
Zap2it: Your biography indicates you’re involved with human rights issues and had an interest in world affairs from a very young age. Where did that come from?
Hannah Simone: It was quite organic, really, because my family just ended up moving countries every few years and were exposed to all different types of cultures and world affairs. I was 9 years old when the Gulf War broke out and we were living in Saudi Arabia. That opens your eyes to something different, and we had to leave during the war. … And then we moved to Cyprus, where my grandfather is from and lived in the last divided capital city in the world after the Berlin Wall fell, and learning that history of a country that’s been divided in two by a recent war. So I think I kind of grew up differently, so my interest in human rights just kind of makes sense when you look at how I was raised.
