Prince’s already hate/loathe relationship with the internet is about to take another blow. Copies of the music legend’s new album have made their way online in spite of The Purple One’s decision to give the album away for free in a bid to thwart piracy.
After declaring the internet “dead,” Prince struck a deal with the British tabloids The Daily Mirror and The Daily Record to hand out his new disc 20TEN with copies of the newspapers on Saturday. At the time of the agreement, the “Pop Life” hitmaker insisted it was the right move as it would circumvent theft of his classic tunes and would cause him “no stress.”
Let’s see how “stress-free” His Majesty feels once he hears that hundreds of copies of the CD have gone onsale on auction websites — like eBay — over the past 48 hours.
How’s that for a FML Moment of the Week?
