Noomi Rapace Horror Film ‘You Won’t Be Alone’ Acquired by

Focus Features has acquired the worldwide rights to “You Won’t Be Alone,” a supernatural horror movie that stars “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” actress Noomi Rapace and that simply accomplished filming in Serbia.

“You Won’t Be Alone” is produced by the group that was behind “The Babadook,” and the movie, which is within the English language, is directed by Australian/Macedonian author and director Goran Stolevski in his characteristic movie debut.

Set in an remoted mountain village in 19th century Macedonia, “You Won’t Be Alone” follows a younger witch who’s left to go feral within the woods. Curious about life as a human, she by accident kills a peasant within the village, then takes her form to see what life is like in her pores and skin. This ignites her deep-seated curiosity to expertise life contained in the our bodies of others.

Co-starring in “You Won’t Be Alone” are Anamaria Marinca, Alice Englert, Carloto Cotta, Félix Maritaud and Sara Klimoska.

The movie is produced by Causeway Films’ Kristina Ceyton and Sam Jennings. Balkanic Media’s Jonathan English is a co-producer, and Noomi Rapace can also be an government producer on the movie with Phil Hunt, Compton Ross, Stephen Kelliher, in addition to Michelle Pearce, Dale Roberts, Jonathan Page and Bryce Menzies.

Focus Features picked up worldwide rights for the movie, with Focus dealing with home distribution and Universal Pictures International dealing with worldwide territories.

Stolevski beforehand directed the quick movie “Would You Look At Her,” which gained the Best International Short Film at Sundance in 2018. He is represented by UTA’s Bec Smith.

“You Won’t Be Alone” was produced with main manufacturing funding from Screen Australia and financed with help from Film Victoria.The manufacturing will now transfer to Melbourne, Victoria to finish sound and movie post-production with help from post-production associate KOJOStudios.

Focus Features’ worldwide acquisition deal was dealt with by Bankside Films as worldwide gross sales agent, and financing was supplied by Head Gear Films and Metrol Technology.
