The Queen of Talk Oprah Winfrey will sit down for a rare interview this Thursday night with The Queen of Broadcast Journalism Barbara Walters in the ABC TV special, Oprah: The Next Chapter.
As she prepares to say goodbye to The Oprah Winfrey Show after 25 years, O opens up to Babs in an hourlong chat that covered everything from her relationship with Stedman Graham, her decision to remain childless, and the gay sex rumors that plague she and bestie Gayle King.
“I have said we are not gay,” she tells Barbara Walters during the chat, which airs Thursday @ 9PM on ABC. “I’m not lesbian. I’m not even kind of lesbian. And the reason it irritates me is because somebody must think I’m lying. That’s number one. Number two, why would you want to hide it? That’s not the way I run my life.”
Oprah, nonetheless, counts herself lucky to have Gayle in her life.
“She is the mother I never had, she is the sister everybody would want, she is the friend everybody deserves,” the chat show host said through tears. “I don’t know a better person. It’s making me cry because I’m thinking about how I’ve probably never told her that.”
