One of the greatest singers of all time Ronnie James Dio died of stomach cancer last Sunday. Later Ozzy Osbourne, fellow mate of Ronnie James released a statement and praised the talents of the late singer.

Osbourne says in his statement that he was very sad to hear the passing of Dio. He called Dio as one of Metal’s greatest voices and says that the gap left behind with the death of the singer would take some time to fill up.

Dio possessed one of the best voices in hard rock and at the end of the 1960’s replaced Osbourne in the band Black Sabbath. He led the band to many successes and gave hits like Mob rules and Heaven and hell. Dio left the band in the year 1982 to start a band of his own and then rejoined Sabbath in 1990.

He didn’t stay for more time and then left again from the band. He later joined the band in the year 2006 and continued so until his death. Apart from Osbourne, many famous personalities did offer condolences on the death of Ronnie. Slayer’s Kerry King said he considers very lucky to have known the great singer and considers him to be one among the best in the business.
