Parents Television Council Rip Miley Cyrus’ “Who Owns My Heart?” Music VIDEO

Hollywood Records removed the video promo for Miley Cyrus’ latest single “Who Owns My Heart?” — the second international release from the singer/actress’ Can’t Be Tamed LP — from the web on Saturday, shortly after media watchdogs with The Parents Television Council publicly slammed the video for being too sexually suggestive.

Cyrus is taking heat from the powerful parent’s group for her ongoing efforts to shed her good-girl status, this time in the sexy new music video — which features Miles gyrating on her bed while primping for a night on the town. The teen singer caresses her chest while she gropes older men on the dance floor of a local nightclub.

Miley contends it’s all in good fun. The pop princess explained to MTV News this month that the video is “just about freeing yourself from anything you think is holding you back…and I think that’s really important, especially for girls, because so many people are told, ‘No, you can’t do something,’ or, ‘You need to be this because Mom and Dad say that, teachers say this.” But from the grinding on older men to the excess makeup and revealing clothing, critics say the “Who Owns My Heart?” video is far too sexual for a 17-year-old girl.

The former Disney darling — who turns 18 in November — flaunts her sensuality in the video where she awakes blindfolded and writhing around on a bed in her underwear before she moves on to a sexy dance party where she can be seen grinding up against various partners.

“It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one,” Tim Winter, President of the PTC, told TMZ.com on Saturday.

“It sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly,” Winter added.

Miley isn’t the only pop tart taking a verbal tongue-lashing from the PTC this month. Last week, the group lit into Glee producers for ther “sexually-explicit” Britney Spears tribute episode. The one-hour Spears-themed extravaganza was the most-watched episode of Glee to date.

Over the summer, the teen singer raised eyebrows across the pond for her performance of the single “I Can’t be Tamed” on Britain’s Got Talent, which saw Cyrus simulating a lesbian kiss on-stage with a backup dancer.
