Patrick House lost more than 200 lbs. and gained a hefty cash prize on Tuesday night’s season finale of The Biggest Loser.
The 28-year-old sales rep from Vicksburg, Mississippi won the 10th season of NBC’s popular weight loss reality competition and took home the $250,000 prize.
Seven months ago, House was a 400-pound, pre-diabetic, and unemployed sales rep. Now the dad of two is 181 pounds slimmer finishing the competition at 219 pounds and has scored a new job after being crowned The Biggest Loser.
“2010 has been a rough year,” House, 28, told host Alison Sweeney Tuesday before stepping on the scale for the final time. “Winning this for me gets back freedom.”
Unemployed since January, House bested runner-up Alfredo “Frado Dinten” with Ada “The Terminator” Wong coming in third place. Former contestant Mark Pinhasovich, one of 14 Loser stars sent home from the ranch earlier in the season, took the $100,000 “at-home” prize, having shed over 47 percent of his starting weight on his own at home.
The show also made several plugs for season 11, which premieres in three weeks. The Biggest Loser plans to introduce two new trainers for the season, which will be star trainer Jillian Michaels’ last with the franchise.
