Sorry, Cleveland Sports Fans: The Pride of Ohio is Big Apple-bound.
Hoopster LeBron James, the NBA’s Most Valuable Player for the past two years will announce his future NBA team within the first 10 minutes of an hourlong ESPN LeBron-Athon-themed special airing tomorrow night, the network announced Wednesday. LeBron’s free agent fate has had B-ball aficionados atwitter for weeks, but it appears a big-mouthed little birdie has spoiled “King James’” surprise by letting the cat out of the bag a full 24 hours ahead of schedule.
LeBron will join the New York Knicks, according to Phoenix Suns forward Jared Dudley — the former teammate and close pal of Ama’re Stoudamire, who just signed a five-year, $100 million contract with the Knicks on Tuesday. Dudley hit his Twitter page this afternoon to drop the tidbit that has the web buzzing.
The James hour — which kicks off at 9 PM (ET) — will also include an interview with LeBron by Mike Wilbon of ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption and others via satellite from ESPN Headquarters in Bristol, Conn.
