Rumor Patrol: A Casting Call Claims These Are the Heroes of 'Avengers: Infinity War'

Today brings some fresh Marvel rumors, so make sure you’ve got fistfuls of salt grains ready to take alongside this potential news. It comes from MovieCastingCall.org, a resource for actors to get info about upcoming productions. According to an old, but recently discovered post on their site, a few weeks ago Disney held an open casting call for Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel, which are filming simultaneously.

As is often the case with casting calls, they include information about the production to lure in as many hopeful applicants as possible. And in this particular case, that info was a role call of Marvel heroes, some of whom you may not have expected to be in Infinity War. It includes:

Thor (Chris Hemsworth)
Thanos (Josh Brolin)
Star-Lord / Peter Quill (Chris Pratt)
Bucky (Sebastian Stan)
Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson)
Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch)
Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel (Brie Larson)
Gamora (Zoe Saldana)
Nebula (Karen Gillan)
Clint Barton / Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner)
Steve Rogers / Captain America (Chris Evans)
Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen)
Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper)
Groot (Vin Diesel)
Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson)
Scott Lang / Ant-Man (Paul Rudd)
Wong (Benedict Wong)
Drax (Dave Bautista)
Vision (Paul Bettany)
T’Challa / Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman)
Bruce Banner / The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo)
Tony Stark / Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.)

The most notable inclusions there are Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and everyone from the Guardians of the Galaxy neck of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sure, it’s expected that they’re going to be integrated into the larger story at some point, but it was never clear if just a few would make the jump or if the entire gang would be merging. That’s the whole gang and then some.

The list also includes some of the smaller players of the MCU, like Wong from Doctor Strange and even Nick Fury, who couldn’t be bothered to show up for Civil War. but will apparently throw down in an Infinity War. It’s also notable that Spider-Man is nowhere to be found, so maybe he won’t be crossing over into the Disney side of the MCU as often as some would hope.

Of course, we have no idea how accurate this roster is, and since there’s no separation between the filming of Infinity War and its sequel it’s unclear if any of these people would be in both movies or just one. But hey, this is by far the bigger list of Marvel big wigs than we have ever seen in a Marvel movie before and is a reminder, if you could even possibly forget, that Avengers: Infinity War is going to be kind of a big deal.
