Salman Khan to donate his bone marrow

Bollywood actor Salman Khan who has always been attached to one or the other noble cause then may be it is Cancer and AIDS is disappointed to know the fact that there are very less bone marrow donors in India. And now the actor wants to spread awareness among people about the need of bone marrow donation today.

A source close to Salman unveils, “Salman first got to know about the lack of bone marrow donors through a friend. He has become quite net savvy of late and did a lot of research on the topic himself. He found the dismal numbers of people donating the critical bone marrow which can save a life, primarily because not many people know that it’s not the same as blood donation. Compared to other countries, the situation in India is quite primitive.”

Salman won’t just urge people for donation but he himself has decided to donate his bone marrow.

Initially, the actor is going to hold a countrywide campaign under his foundation Being Human that will now focus on raising awareness about the importance of bone marrow donation.

The source added, “Salman, through his Being Human Foundation has decided to collect funds and also donate his own bone marrow. He has been urging his friends to join in the cause and has decided to hold camps to spread awareness on the issue.”

We hope Salman gets successful in this noble cause of bone marrow donation that can save lives of people attacked by leukaemia and tuberculosis.
