Sarah Ferguson is being pushed back from the brink of bankruptcy with a little help from reality TV and The Queen of Talk.

The UK’s disgraced Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson will star in a six-part reality series about her struggle with weight, finances, and family when OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network premieres in Jan. 2011, network executives announced Friday.

In the show, titled Finding Sarah, Ferguson will share her “personal struggle to rebuild her life” with advice from O-favored experts Dr. Phil McGraw, Suze Orman, and Martha Beck.

“I’m doing this because I need to heal my mind, body and spirit,” Ferguson said in a statement announcing the new venture.

The long-scandal-scarred Sarah garnered headlines in May when she offered an undercover journalist with British tabloid News of the World access to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, in exchange for money. The Original Fergie says she was distressed by the dire state of finances and under the influence of alcohol when she was caught in the newspaper sting.

Ferguson — who made millions as an author and the face of Weight Watchers in the ’90s — has seen her fortunes fade in recent years. Sarah, now in her 40s, could be forced to declare bankruptcy from massive debts she amassed as a result of years of lavish spending.
