Sean Bean Crowned as King For Relativity’s ‘Snow White’

All hail Good King Sean Bean: The rugged star of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘Game of Thrones’ has just been offered another regal fantasy role, that of the king in Relativity’s untitled Snow White project. We have to admit, the man looks good in a fur cape and he wields a mean sword.

If he accepts the role, he’ll play husband to evil queen Julia Roberts, who not only plots to have daughter Snow White (Lily Collins) killed, but destroys his kingdom, as evil queens are wont to do.

Any bets whether he’ll live to see the end credits? As the bloody, spoiler-filled Sean Bean Death Reel’ demonstrates, Bean’s alter egos have an unlucky history of getting killed off.

This is not the rival Kirsten Dunst version in which Snow White is aided by a strapping huntsman (Chris Hemsworth). That epic movie meet-up between Thor and Boromir will just have to wait.

This version (directed by Tarsem Singh) will be more family friendly and hit theaters on March 16, 2012, more than two months before Universal’s rival project ‘Snow White and the Huntsman.’

Does the addition of Bean make this the better Snow White? Or do Stewart, all those awesome dwarves and Hemsworth sell you on ‘Huntsman?’
