Shot In The Head! Wife Of Eagles Member Randy Meisner Found Dead

The wife of former Eagles bassist Randy Meisner, Lana Rae Meisner, died on Sunday night after suffering a fatal gun shot wound to the head.

According to an insider, LAPD officers visited the couple’s Studio City house earlier in the evening on a domestic violence call but left without incident.

An hour later, they were called to the home again, where Randy, 69, told them his 63-year-old wife “was stumbling around, looking for something in a closet where there were two guns,” the insider said. “She was looking for something in the hall closet, and Randy told cops one of the guns was falling and in the process, Lana Rae caught it and it ended up blowing her head apart.”

“Randy seemed to be in shock and wasn’t even able to acknowledge that Lana Rae was dead from a gun shot wound,” a law enforcement source told radio detection and ranging exclusively.

The source revealed that there were surveillance cameras in the proximity of where the tragic incident took place, and cops will be reviewing the footage.

Randy and his wife had weathered dramatic incidents in the past.

In January 2015, Randy’s friend, James Newton, was granted temporary conservatorship of the troubled singer, who departed The Eagles in 1977. His attorney told the court Randy had threatened to kill himself and others.

“[Randy] threatened to gun everyone down with an AK-47,” Newton’s attorney Troy Martin told the court, citing medical records, according to the New York Daily News.

Newton claimed the threats were made to hospital staff, but said that Randy didn’t have a firearm on his person at the time the threats were made.

According to Martin, Randy had been treated for alcoholism and took medication for a “mood disorder.”

As for Lana Rae, she had been in denial about the seriousness of her husband’s health issues, according to reports. The couple had been married for more than twenty years.

The source added, “It doesn’t appear that there was any suicide note that was immediately discovered.”
