As per Ormax Media’s Moviescope predictive model, Rohit Shetty’s Singham is expected to have a nett weekend opening of Rs 24.90 crores, assuming a release across 1500 cinemas.
Considering the scale of release and the trade perception about the film, this is an average opening. Secondly, the number of shows for Singham at multiplexes are lower than expected since Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is still going strong.
Last year Ajay Devgan’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai which released on July 30, across 1200 cinemas had a nett opening weekend collection of Rs 21.50 crores.
Moviescope is a Film Research Engine designed to take care of all the needs of a producer. This includes four components – Ad Pre-Test, Film Pre-Test, Awareness Tracking (Cinematix) and Exit Polls.
Using consumer data on various parameters, Moviescope can predict the opening weekend collections of a film a week before its release, and the Lifetime Box Office (LBO) within three days of release.
