A rousing celebration rocked the streets of Madrid Sunday as more than 300,000 people in the Spanish capital formed a sea of red and yellow to celebrate the nation’s first World Cup. Spain stole victory and a championship title this weekend after handing down crushing defeat in a match against the Netherlands.

Today’s win was also a triumph for what may be the world’s first octopus oracle. With a perfect prediction record, Paul The Octopus contended that Spain would win soccer’s most coveted for the first time in their history.
