Need something larger than a Venti? Coffee giant Starbucks wants latte lovers to sip on its newest offering – The Trenta – a 31 oz beverage hitting shops this spring.

Starbucks has launched a new super-sized coffee cup which holds nearly a quarter of a gallon of coffee. The company, which celebrated its 30th anniversary with a simplified logo earlier this month, has announced the introduction of a new cup size that boasts eleven more ounces than it’s kid sister The Venti. (Don’t be alarmed. The sound you just heard was that of your bladder gasping for air….)

Think of it as the Super Big Gulp of the Caffeine-Addicted Circuit.

The new size will be available in 14 states including Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Texas, and Arizona starting today. Look for the Trenta cups to premiere in California on Feb. 1 before going live nationwide on May 3. The Trenta (Italian for “Thirty…) will only be available for iced coffee and tea drinks — which means we Frappuccinos Lovers will have to get our 32 oz of cold coffee and cream elsewhere. Our neighbors in the UK are also being denied access to the 1.5-pint coffee cup.

“We have no plans to introduce the Trenta in the UK as our research shows there is not the demand for it. In the U.S. things are different so it is being launched over there,” a company spokeswoman said this week.

Trenta-sized beverages will cost just $.50 more than Venti versions of the same drinks ($3.30 for an iced coffee and $2.60 for an iced tea) and top out 230 calories.
