Take a Video Tour of Guillermo del Toro's Ridiculous House

No one should ever have any reason to doubt Guillermo del Toro’s status as an enormous movie geek. Movies like Blade II, Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth, Pacific Rim and Crimson Peak are practically dripping with admiration for the artists and filmmakers that came before him. It’s not exactly something del Toro hides in his filmmaking, and apparently it’s not something he hides in his day-to-day life, either.

Andy Richter visited del Toro’s home for Conan and it’s basically like taking a tour through Willy Wonka’s factory– if Wonka was obsessed with horror movies and macabre icons of yesteryear. He has life size replicas of H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allen Poe staged as if they’re real people just hanging out in his house. A giant replica of Frankenstein’s monster’s head looms over the house’s entrance way. Collectibles that are surely priceless are strewn all over the place, so much so that a camera man actually knocks one over at some point.

It’s an amazing house, a ridiculous art collection and is sure to instill infinite jealousy in anyone who watches it. So, naturally, check it out.
