The bold and the Beautiful

New comer Tanya Singh has got one sharp tongue. Being new to an industry ruled by hot-shots is not discouraging her from speaking her mind. And why not? Great looks, a sexy bod, a sharp mind and talent, she has everything going for her.

The fact that she refused a big banner film like Tashan makes it clear that she is not among the desperate one who would do anything to get their faces on the silver screen. “I was offered Tashan by the YRF guys where I was supposed to play a Sita type role opposite Akshay Kumar but I refused.” And she further explains, “I’d rather begin my innings with an intimate scene with Akshay than play a Sita opposite him!”

The luscious lady is presently all smiles about the way her career is unfolding. She started her career in theatre and then did a southern film. She is also the face of many print advertisements and has a music video with t-series to her credit.

But my real claim to fame is my international project The Genius of Beauty. It’s an outrageous, comedy with lots of gorgeous women written by William Gentry and directed by Aarin Mehta. The film has been in the Cannes this year and was also screened at the Hong Kong film festival. It will be screened at the Korea film festival the next month for which I’m gearing up now.” She smiled. As for the kind of roles she would like to do, she is extremely clear. “Bollywood has had enough of girl-next-doors, I’d want to take up something bold, blunt and challenging!” Way to go, girl!
