TV Query: Did ‘This Is Us’ star Mandy Moore choreograph ‘La La Land’?
“La La Land” is taking awards season by storm, and everyone from the director to the stars are praising the brilliant choreography work of one very talented lady: Mandy Moore.
For most people, that name brings to mind a certain starlet who made a splash in Hollywood in the early 2000s and has since gone on to wow us all on NBC’s new hit drama, “This Is Us.” Naturally, “La La Land” fans are wondering how in the world Moore had time to choreograph this epic film while juggling all her other commitments.

Here’s a hint: she didn’t.
The Mandy Moore all these acceptance speeches are thanking is actually a completely different woman, best known for her stunning choreography on “Dancing With the Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance” over the past ten years. The confusion at the 2017 Golden Globes got even more complicated since Mandy Moore (the actress) was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series, Drama for her role as Rebecca in “This Is Us.”
We’re actually surprised there was no goof where the camera accidentally panned to the wrong Moore.
Both ladies are undoubtedly talented, but we’re not sure the “This Is Us” star has the dancing chops to choreograph Hollywood’s favorite new musical. Needless to say, the young actress took to Twitter after the Globes to clear things up — even for her own co-star Milo Ventimiglia.
It looks like she’ll be sticking to singing instead of dancing, but we can’t help but wonder if “This Is Us” will manage to drop a “La La Land” joke into the back half of their season in response to the mix up.
“This Is Us” returns Tuesday (Jan. 10) at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. PT on NBC.
