[WATCH] ‘Antlers’ Trailer Unleash A Terrifying Fairy Tale

What do you get while you mix Hostiles and Out of the Furnace director Scott Cooper, The Act and Channel Zero author Nick Antosca, producer Guillermo del Toro, and actors Keri Russell and Jesse Plemons? A delightfully creepy and creature-filled horror movie like Antlers, which simply dropped its first trailer and a quick plot synopsis for everybody who may be jonesing for such a ridiculous mixture of expertise.

The quick trailer doesn’t give away an excessive amount of, although the official logline does provide just a few context clues:

In ANTLERS, a small-town Oregon instructor (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the native sheriff, uncover {that a} younger pupil (Jeremy T. Thomas) is harboring a harmful secret with horrifying penalties.

So, between the scholar’s “dangerous secret” and the transient snippets of gore, violence and del Toro-esque creature results, Antlers seems an terrible lot like a terrifying tackle some sort of rural fairy story. Interestingly sufficient, that’s exactly what Antosca’s authentic quick story “The Quiet Boy,” on which Antlers relies, is all about:

But there was no Goldilocks in his story. There have been solely the Wolfs, who lived collectively in a cave above a city. Big Wolf, Middle Wolf, and Little Wolf. Big Wolf was a brute. Little Wolf was timid. Middle Wolf was the peacemaker.
