#What2Watch: Friday’s 5 must-see shows
Just because it’s Friday doesn’t mean there isn’t anything good on TV. So if you don’t have any plans for this fine fall weekend, settle in because there are some great programs airing Sept. 30.
‘MacGyver,’ 8 p.m., CBS
This reboot show is actually a lot more fun than we were expecting. On Friday’s episode, the team attempts a daring rescue in Venezuela to bring back Jack’s (George Eads) former CIA partner who went missing — played by guest star Amy Acker (“Person of Interest,” “Angel”).
‘Masters of Illusion’ finale, 8 p.m., The CW
The Season 5 finale of “Masters of Illusion” features a magic pup and an illusion called “When Doves Fly.” If you’re a fan of magic, this is a really cute little show to check out.
‘The Exorcist,’ 9 p.m., FOX
The power of TV compels you to watch “The Exorcist.”
The second episode of FOX’s new spooky drama is called “Lupus in Fabula,” which translates to “the wolf in the tale.” It’s a phrase that has been used in literature as a version of the idiom “speak of the Devil.” It basically means “speak of the wolf/devil and he will appear.”
‘Burgers, Brew & ‘Que,’ 10 p.m., Food Network
“Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson guest stars as host Michael Symon joins him in Chicago to check out some of the Windy City’s legendary food institutions. Our mouths are watering just thinking about it
‘Doomsday: 10 Ways the World Will End’ premiere, 10 p.m., History
History is debuting a new show on Fridays designed to entertain, education and scare the living daylights out of you. Up first, killer asteroids. So if you’d like a sneak peek at what would happen if a devastating, dinosaur-killing asteroid hit our planet now, look no further.
