Whoopi Goldberg”s limited run in the West End production of ‘Sister Act’ is attracting fans in huge numbers, so much so that people are camping out for days in a bid to secure tickets.

The actress-turned-U.S. TV personality played nightclub singer Doloris in the hit 1992 movie and its sequel the following year (93).

And last week, she joined the London”s stage show version of the film to play Mother Superior and fans are going to extreme lengths for a chance to see the musical.

Tickets are attracting bids of more than 200 pounds on various websites and die-hard devotees are queueing overnight at the box office outside the London Palladium theatre.

“We always knew that Whoopi as Mother Superior would give us a boost but what we”ve seen at the Palladium is totally unprecedented,” the Daily Star quoted a spokesperson for the producers as telling the city”s Evening Standard newspaper.

“People are queueing from before dawn for day seats – some people are even camping out overnight, and some even remain in the returns queue long after curtain has gone up in the hope of getting a ticket,” he added.
