Yesterday afternoon, Variety reported the surprising idea that Warner Bros. is looking at Ben Affleck as a choice to helm its long-proposed Justice League movie. Hours later, Deadline literally called “bullsh*t” on the news, claiming that Affleck’s people have been denying the notion all week. Fox’s 2003 Daredevil movie was on the mind of comic book movie fans earlier this week when there was some back-and-forth over whether Disney and Fox might swap some movie rights, but now DD’s star Ben Affleck is getting the spotlight with the news that Warner Bros. apparently wants the former Man Without Fear to direct its tentative Justice League movie.

Roland Emmerich is in talks to direct Sony Pictures’ White House Down, written by James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man), reports Deadline.

Details are being kept under wraps for now, but the storyline concerns a para-military takeover of the White House. Mythology Entertainment partners Bradley Fischer, Vanderbilt and Laeta Kalogridis will produce the film.
