As opening weekends go Alice beat Avatar when it reached £8.3m over the sci fi blue cats £6.7m. With the increase of 3D films entering the cinemas I suspect we can see more box office records breaking for this new tech, but for now the Mad Hatter rules supreme in weekend film frolics.
