Universal Pictures and Fast Five director Justin Lin are teaming on Subdivision, a sci-fi comedy from writers Morgan Jurgenson and Alex Ankeles, reports Variety.

The project is a potential directing vehicle for Lin, who will produce through his Universal-based Barnstorm Pictures. Barnstorm executive Elaine Chin will produce with Lin.

The storyline is being kept under wraps.

Universal has set dates for the upcoming Guillermo del Toro-produced Mama and the Ron Howard directed Rush. They’ve also slightly moved the Joseph Kosinski film Oblivion with plans to launch early only on IMAX screens.

Mama, directed by Andres Muschietti, stars Jessica Chastain, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Megan Charpentier and Isabelle Nelisse.

There must be some Occultists over at Universal. According to Deadline.com, the studio has just resurrected the movie “Ouija.”

Based on the popular board game, the film was originally set to be directed by McG, but was eventually scrapped in 2011 due to a ballooning $ 150 million budget. Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to Andrew Pyper’s upcoming novel, The Demonologist, Deadline reports. Robert Zemeckis and his ImageMovers studio are planning to develop the text for the screen. Though the book does not yet have an official release date, an early description is as follows:
