“American Idol” Chris Medina Tugs At Heartstrings During Milwaukee Auditions

American Idol Season 10 auditions headed to Milwaukee, Wisconsin this week to search for more contestants to gift with Golden Tickets to Tinseltown. In the process, we found this season’s first tearjerker.

The highlight of the episode was Chris Medina, 26. Medina proposed to his girlfriend of eight years Juliana and they planned to tie the knot two years after their engagement, but just two months before the wedding Juliana suffered a severe brain injury in a horrific accident. Doctors did not expect her to live, but she pulled through. Chris stuck by Julianna after the accident and now joins her mother as one of her primary caretakers.

“What kind of guy would I be if I walked out when she needed me the most?” Medina said.

Fulfilling a dream on last night’s show, Chris auditioned for Idol singing a heartbreakingly beautiful rendition of The Script’s “Break Even” — which he clearly sang to the love of his life.
