A novel inspired by one of the popular characters featured on ABC’s longrunning daytime drama General Hospital will arrive on booksellers’ shelvers this April, Hyperion Publishers announced earlier this month.
The Secret Life of Damian Spinelli, featuring Port Charles’ own Damian Spinelli, is expected to go on sale April 5, just in time to coincide with the show’s 48th anniversary. Bradford William Anderson has played the computer-savvy Damian on the show since 2006.
Carolyn Hennesy, who portrays Diane Miller on G.H., is also an established author and used her writing talents to pen the book.
“This book is the story of the endearing, lovable computer genius and geek, Damian Spinelli, and his exploits as a private detective as told to another character on the show, the high-powered attorney of Port Charles, Diane Miller,” Hyperion said in a news release Jan. 17. “Filled with mystery and suspense, the pages were found on Ms. Miller’s stolen computer disc and include never-before-told stories of Port Charles residents — their confessions and behaviors in times of crisis and triumph through Spinelli’s imagination.”
Hyperion Vice President and Executive Editor Gretchen Young chimes in: “Hyperion is thrilled to be partnering on a new book with ABC Daytime and bringing the world of Spinelli and Port Charles to life on the page.”
