Motorola Droid X Is Unveiled Officially

On Wednesday, Verizon officially rolled out the Motorola Droid X at a media event. The handset can be availed starting from July 15 for $200. It will be accompanied with a two-year contract.
Actually, the event of Verizon revealed several noteworthy surprises about Android. Here are some things that we learned about.
The Droid X will be available with Android 2.1, but the cell phone will receive the Android 2.2 in the second part of the summer. Originally it was expected that the Motorola Droid and the Nexus One will get Froyo in June, but no specific date was revealed.
Actually, there are a lot of talks concerning the growth of Android. According to Andy Rubin, every day about 160,000 Android devices are activated.
Also it was expected that another new Droid handset, the Motorola 2 would be announced at the event. According to the rumors, the Motorola Droid 2 is a direct follow-up of the original Moto Droid that is available with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, smaller screen, and feels a bit the same compared to the previous Droid model.
But still the main focus of Verizon is the Droid X. So what does that mean? Probably the new model will be released a bit later or may be it was just an internal test model.
