Few people have had such memorable stints on reality TV as the meat-eating, can’t-control-my-alcohol-intake aggressor that is Chad. He was the star of JoJo Fletcher’s cycle of “The Bachelorette.” He then could have had a leading role on “Bachelor in Paradise” — if he didn’t get so wasted on the first night that he managed to offend everyone before passing out on the floor and pooping his pants.

Whether we like or not, Chad is reality TV gold. And according to ET Online, this 28-year-old luxury real estate agent from Tulsa, OK., is going to back on the small screen sooner than later. The Chad Bear is set to be appear on the former “Bachelor” stars’ newest series on Freeform, “Ben And Lauren Forever: Happy Ever After.” If this sounds weird — Zap2it agrees with you. Before joining Bachelor Nation, neither Chad and Ben, nor Chad and Lauren, even knew of each other. So, what is he doing on their new show?
The answer appears to be pretty simple. Few reality TV series seems as boring as watching Ben and Lauren settle into a domestic life together. Ben was going to run for office in Denver, Co., but then declined the political spotlight. And Lauren’s super exciting job is running her new lifestyle blog. This is an utter snooze-fest of a spin-off.
Ben and Lauren seem like a wonderful couple and will have a beautiful televised wedding, but until that big day comes — we can’t think of one reason why someone would tune into watching two vanilla personalities discuss wedding themes, guest lists and registry woes. We’d rather watch paint dry. It would be just as entertaining.
That is until it was announced that Chad is going to be their new third wheel. It’s a genius move on the producers’ part. How Chad is going to fit into their “Happily Ever After” remains to be seen, but we’re guessing that Chad plans Ben’s bachelor party. This would be the TV version of “The Hangover 4.” Or maybe Chad becomes Ben’s personal trainer? Who wouldn’t want to watch Ben and Chad doing pull-ups with suitcases attached to their torsos off the side of a roof?

Whatever role Chad assumes on “Lauren and Ben” will surely be a great one. Because without his seemingly random presence, we had zero desire to tune in and it’s now a must-watch series. Oh, Chad Bear. You’re the phantom of reality TV.
“Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After” premieres on Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Freeform.
