Canada Breaks the Internet During the 2016 Presidential Election

The polls are closed, and even though the votes haven’t officially finished being counted, there’s already a clear winner tonight: Canada.

The internet literally broke due to the influx of Americans’ interest in the northern bordering country during what’s been a very intense election night.

Though the evening has been no laughing matter, kind Canada did give us anxiety-ridden voters a slight reprieve with some passive-aggressive humor as we watched the poll results come in on Tuesday (an act they’d surely apologize for, eh?).

With that being said, here are some of the best shout outs to the True North:

Canada subtweeted the U.S., reminding us how they handle their immigrants. In response, Americans questioned whether they’d accept our traditions, too? Please?

Canada also made it easier for Americans to be able to move, teasing us even more…

All of this led to millions of Americans looking up the Canadian immigration website, which eventually crashed. In fact, it’s still down. (Looks like Kim Kardashian‘s not the only one who can break the internet).

Some people came to the rescue. For example, Canadian actor Alexander Ludwig offered us his home.

Others pitched the idea of gathering money to build a Canadian compound.

We were reminded of how many celebs promised they’d book it up north depending on who became POTUS.

And thus, it will definitely gain some serious talent.

People even began practicing the Canadian national anthem.

Brittany Snow checked into flights for all of us.

But some would rather just take a long, lonely walk.

Real estate brokers took advantage of a solid career opportunity.

But overall, we think Canada is probably pretty nervous about all this attention.
