Law & Order it ain’t! ABC is pulling the plug on its freshman law drama, The Whole Truth, due to poor ratings.

The legal series, which starred Maura Tierney and Rob Morrow, focused on both sides of a case each week. The show was the first gig for Tierney since the former ER star successfully battled breast cancer. Tierney, who was diagnosed last year, was cast as prosecutor Kathryn Peale in the series, which debuted on The Alphabet Network just last month.

In a post on Twitter.com, co-executive producer KristieAnne Reed writes: “ABC gave us the word. We will only make 13 episodes of The Whole Truth. ABC gave us the word. We will only make 13 episodes of The Whole Truth.”

She added: “We’re still filming and will be until mid-December. Thanks for your support.”

Despite booting Truth, ABC ordered full seasons of No Ordinary Family and Better With You.

The Whole Truth is the fourth freshman series to be axed from the fall schedule. In September, FOX’s critically-acclaimed drama Lone Star became the first show of the new season to be axed. Earlier this month, ABC cancelled My Generation, while NBC dropped Outlaw.
