Abhishek claims playing a different Raavan

Abhishek Bachchan has in a web-conference clarified that his about to be released film Raavan has nothing to do with the epic Ramayana. The reports from the reviews of the trailers of the movie suggested that it was at attempt to have a different look at the mythical character from the epic.

The actor says that his character in the film goes by the name of Beera who is nick named as Raavan by his sister as he had some characteristics of the demon king. “This is one of the purest characters I have ever portrayed. The film is like an abstract painting where everyone is allowed to interpret it in his or her own way,” he says.

Abhishek also has denied the rumors that his character Beera is inspired by the moist leader Khobad Ghandy as he says Beera is not at all influenced by any real-life personality and that the film is a unique piece of work and thanked Mani for giving him the character.
