Alice Tan Ridley Sent Packing On “America’s Got Talent”

Alice Tan Ridley’s dreams of a snagging a recording contract and a million-dollar cash price on the sixth season of America’s Got Talent have been dashed.

On Wednesday night, the velvet-voiced New York City subway performer and mother of Academy Award-nominated actress Gabby Sidibe was eliminated in the final stage of this year’s competiton — leaving Talent fans, in a word, speechless. Last night, it came down to Alice and the Studio One Young Beast Society hip-hop dance troupe vying for the final spot in next week’s America’s Got Talent finals and the last shot at the $1 million prize. The decision to send Alice home was made by judges Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne, who both felt the young dancers should advance instead.
