It’s about time Boy George confirmed what he’s been hinting at since his release from the pokey on kidnapping charges last year: His ’80s pop band Culture Club is reuniting in 2012. Egads!

The singer, 49, has been busy promoting his solo album but promised new tunes and a “proper, huge, worldwide tour” from the iconic 80s band in the coming year.

“We are getting back together. Next year. This year [I’m touring] on my own. It’s kind of a precursor for what I’m doing with Culture Club in 2012,” George confirmed in an interview with BBC’s Breakfast Show last week. “We’ll be doing a proper huge worldwide tour. And a new album…”
