Monday night was rough for Dancing with the Stars partners Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Hope Solo.
Aside from earning a score of 20 and being ridiculed for performing their “worst dance of the season,” Chmerkovskiy, 31, didn’t exactly charm viewers with his negative outburst in response to the judges’ criticism.
But even though the duo had a less than stellar night, they still performed one point higher than fellow competitors Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer, who ended up at the very bottom of the leaderboard.
Were voters turned off by Chmerkovskiy’s meltdown? Or did consistent low scorers Schwimmer and Bono bid the ballroom adieu?
Looks like Chmerkovskiy has another week to redeem himself. At the end of Tuesday night’s elimination episode, Bono and Schwimmer were sent packing.
“I took so much away from this,” Bono said after getting the news. “This was an amazing journey that really pushed me and showed me that I could do so much more than I ever thought I could.”
“I came on this show because I wanted to show America a different kind of man,” he added. “I dedicate everything I did to all the people out there like me, especially the kids and teens who are struggling. You can have a wonderful, great life and be successful and happy.”
