Demi Lovato Sued? Bruised & Bloodied Dancer Filing Lawsuit Against Troubled Disney Kid

A backup dancer who was assaulted by once clean-cut teen star Demi Lovato is considering filing suit against the young millionaire.

Dancer Alex Welch has hired high-powered attorney lawyer Donald Karpel as she considers “her legal options” — including the pursuit of punitive damages — against the rehabbing Lovato, TMZ tipsters dish. In October, Demi, 18, left the Jonas Brothers World Tour to enter a rehab facility last month to “seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time.” At the time, reports surfaced which suggested that Demi decided to check into the facility after a physical altercation with a backup dancer on tour.

No one can pinpoint the exact moment when Demi went from Disney sweetheart to strung-out in rehab, but t Demi went out with her band and her dancers on a night off from the JoBros Tour, and apparently it was such a wild night that the next day her managers “questioned the group’s conduct.” Demi, thinking she’d been dobbed on, “reacted badly” and went after Alex, the dancer she presumed was the loose-lipped snitch Welch was “minding her own business” on a private jet leaving Bogota, Colombia when Demi punched her on the left side of her face. According to an unnamed source, a “one-sided, short physical altercation” ensued.

“Demi felt awful about her behavior and realized she needed to take personal responsibility for it,” says a well-placed informant. “Because of this, and because of the battles Demi has fought throughout her life, both she and her family realized she needed to take steps to get help immediately.”

Alex, it appears, isn’t really in a forgiving sorta mood. She had to receive emergency medical attention for what we hear were very visible injuries, and is out for blood…the green paper kind that is.

Demi’s estranged father, Patrick Lovato, also known as Michael Lohan 2.0, pooh-poohs the fact that Welch was the victim of an unprovoked attack by his admittedly emotionally-unstable daughter. He believes Alex is only after money and vows that she doesn’t stand a chance of winning a judgement against Demi.

He told RadarOnline.com: “Demi has really good lawyers and so does Disney, this girl shouldn’t sue. She won’t win. She wouldn’t do this if Demi wasn’t famous.”
