Set your DVRs, Comedy Fans. The original Rocket Man, Sir Elton John, has signed up to host an episode of Saturday Night Live airing next month.

The singer’s been tipped to emcee the April 2 edition of NBC’s longrunning sketch comedy show, alongside the night’s musical guest Leon Russell, The Hollywood Reporter scooped this week. The appearance will mark John’s first on the show since he performed on the SNL stage back in 1982. The announcement was made Sunday night, during John’s annual Oscar-viewing party, which also doubled as a benefit for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Meanwhile, in other Elton news, the singer is set to follow in the footsteps of singer Britney Spears and actress Gwyneth Paltrow. Glee actor Matthew Morrison says the famous Brit is in talks for a cameo on the award-winning show.
