Ginnifer Goodwin loves to keep her red carpet looks interesting, and the actress couldn’t care less if she ends up on a ‘worst dressed’ list — all that matters to her is that she took a risk.
“I believe in falling on my face, getting back up and trying again,” Goodwin told PEOPLE at the Listerine 21 Day Challenge in N.Y.C. on Tuesday. “Clothes are a form of personal expression.”
And with that expression comes “countless” red carpet regrets — so many in fact that she couldn’t name just one. “Usually I work with stylists, and that’s usually a very good idea,” she said. “[Then] sometimes I’ll go, ‘I can do this myself!’ And I’ll wear something horrendous and be like, ‘Ah, what did I do?’”
Though we’re big fans of the star’s favored bold, colorful dresses, we might be seeing less of them in her red carpet future. “I know that I want to change [my style] up, but I don’t know what that means exactly yet,” she said. “I’m 34 — about to be 35 — and I feel my maturity in some ways, so it’s time that my wardrobe evolves [with me].”
While you wait to see where Goodwin takes her fashion next, you can join the star on the Listerine 21 Day Challenge and “swish” for a good cause: For every person who signs up, Listerine will donate to the Smiles Across America program, which provides oral health care to children in need. Head over to Facebook.com/listerine for more info. Tell us: Do you like taking fashion risks, like Goodwin, or do you play it safe?
