Green Tea may cure leukemia

Benefits of green tea have been reported by the researches for long time. Now another advantage of sipping the tea has surfaced. Researchers have found green tea highly advantageous in treating chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients.

According to the new findings, the tea has a chemical epigallocatechin gallate that is very helpful in reducing number of leukemia cells in the patient with the disease. The research was conducted in Mayo Clinic laboratory. it is first time that green tea was used for its benefits on CLL patient.

However, further trials are required in order to ascertain the impact of the tea in curing the patients. These studies advance the thought that the tea can be taken as a way to cancer preventives also.
