Harvard-educated funnyguy Greg Giraldo — a judge on Last Comic Standing and a regular on The Howard Stern Show and Comedy Central Roasts — is listed in critical condition in a New Jersey hospital after suffering a drug overdose over the weekend.
“It was an accidental overdose, and he is in critical condition,” a well-placed squeal at the comedian’s management company, The Collective, informed The New York Post on Sunday.
The comic — who often makes light of his past struggles with addiction — reportedly overdosed on prescription pills. Giraldo collapsed n his hotel room, shortly before he was expected to take the stage at a local club.
He was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he remains hospitalized.
