“Grey’s Anatomy” is still just beginning its lucky thirteenth season — and Meredith’s Nanny has seen it all. This week, the Nanny wonders if birth control even exists for the good doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital…
It’s been little over two weeks since April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson (Jesse Williams) welcomed baby Harriet, and now another pair of doctors is preparing to bring a new human into this world? Did these people not learn about birth control in med school? How can these be the most highly regarded surgeons in maybe the world and not know how to keep track of their cycle?
It’s beyond logic. Even worse, we’re not sure if Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) is even pregnant. She can read a brain X-ray, but she can’t pee on a stick before announcing to all of Grey Sloan that she’s with child? Brilliant mind, zero common sense.

While we await confirmation, it’s safe to assume the baby boom on “Grey’s Anatomy” will continue, and as Meredith Grey’s (Ellen Pompeo) nanny, the only silver lining here is that I don’t have to worry about job security. Jackson and April are already asking me for help as it is. I knew the moment April returned to work, she would reach out. When I told her I’d already arranged Zola’s old car seat in Mer’s SUV, her grateful smile was… Well, it was everything.
However, I said yes before looking at my iCal: Next week, I’ll be busy dropping Tuck off at basketball practice and head straight to Zola’s dance recital. Overhearing me fret on the phone near the hospital nursery, Dr. Hunt (Kevin McKidd) offered to look after Harriet for a while — I was pleasantly shocked. Just thinking about Dr. Hunt holding that little baby makes my ovaries jump! He will be such a phenomenal dad. And Amelia, even if the tactical part of her brain outside of surgery seems to have escaped her, will be a great mother.
In other news, when I drove by the hospital to scoop up Meredith, it looked like everything was good between her, Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Riggs (Martin Henderson). After Maggie went to bed, I mentioned to my boss how impressed I was she was able to finally fess up and squash the whole love triangle situation, and Mer just stared at me with a plastered-on smile. “What the hell!” I silently yelled. I was so angry but did not want to wake up Derek. He’s teething, and not exactly a fun little guy to be around right now.
Instead, l whacked her with one of Ellis’ dolls. How long is she going to keep this secret going? This slow burn of continuously lying is going to be sending up smoke in no time. I’ve been trying to get this through to her for weeks, and nothing. Fingers crossed Meredith and Riggs took a moment during their car romp to use a condom, because — wow. Honestly, I can’t even entertain the thought. If Mer gets pregnant a fourth time and that’s how Maggie discovers her half-sister hooked up with Riggs, things just won’t catch fire — it will all explode.
“Grey’s Anatomy” airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
