Heather Morris received rave reviews after channeling Britney Spears to hilarious perfection during Glee’s record-setting Spears tribute episode earlier this year, but Morris may soon be “slaving” away on the set of a Hollywood blockbuster after being tipped to succeed Kristy Swanson and Sarah Michelle Gellar as the big screen’s next Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
Warner Bros. are discussing resurrecting Buffy Summers for a new movie that would not involve Joss Whedon, who adapted the original film for the small screen. The long running TV series, which began as a 1992 film starring Swanson, is being re-imagined in a new reboot, and Morris — best known for her role as a Cheerios cheerleader on TV’s Glee — is the favored actress to play the cheerleader-turned-vampire hunter, according to MovieWeb.com.
Warner Bros. producers are especially impressed with Heather’s “comedic timing” and background as a dancer and gymnast.
“In this new reboot, Buffy will no longer be in high school, but instead facing the same hardships that a lot of young college graduates have today in struggling to find a paying job and a healthy relationship. Though she plays a teenager on Glee, the 23 year-old-actress is actually the right age for this newly rebooted take on the character,” a source allegedly divulged to the site.
Of course, if Heather isn’t interested in the role, the Original Buffy is still available.

Swanson says she’d love to be involved, telling Entertainment Weekly: “Let Buffy live; why not? If they wanted me to be a part of it, I think that would be fantastic and that it would be a blast. There are die-hard Joss Whedon fans, who absolutely love him to death, and rightly so. He’s a brilliant man, no doubt. I love everything Buffy. I don’t care who’s doing it.”
